Year 9 Morrisby Assessments

On the 9th of March, the Year 9 students participated in the Morrisby Assessment in their classrooms.

Morrisby recently started a new program in government secondary schools called My Career Insights, which aims to help Year 9 students to:

• Learn what skills and abilities they could bring to a job;

• Find out what jobs match their abilities, interests, and personality, as well as the subjects they need for those jobs.

As part of the program students completed a series of online questions and quizzes on the Morrisby Profile website using Morrisby's innovative assessment software. After completing these quizzes, students received a Morrisby Profile Report showing the results from the questions and quizzes, and consequently career and course suggestions that matched their abilities, interests, and personality.

The school then will organise a 30-minute meetings between the student and an accredited career advisor, who explained the profile and report to the student. Parents were also welcomed to attend this meeting. This session has been tentatively being organised to take place in Term 4 and dates will be advised upon confirmation from Australian Centre for Career Education (CEAV).

Overall, the Morrisby Assessments are a fantastic tool to assist Year 9 students in making well-informed career decisions for their future whilst also equipping them with a clearer understanding of themselves.
