Axial Training

On Tuesday, students in Years 9 and 10 met Alana from Axial Training to learn about the Diploma of Business course. Students may select the Diploma course as one of their subjects to study across Years 11 and 12, at an additional cost. The course runs for seven terms and students have a combination of classroom learning, with a fully qualified Axial trainer, and online delivery. The course will assist students to develop their supervisory, decision-making and problem-solving skills, across a range of business functions. Students also have the added benefit of a completed Diploma assisting with tertiary entry to universities such as, QUT, Griffith University, ACU, University of Sunshine Coast, the University of Southern Queensland and James Cook University.  

 

QUT recognises a completed Diploma qualification with a selection rank (ATAR equivalency) of 87.00. Current Year 10 students may consider Diploma of Business as one of their subjects in 2023. For further information, click on the below button.  

ACU

Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are invited to attend the ACU Brisbane campus at Banyo on Wednesday 29 June, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Discover ACU is a free event in which prospective students can experience sessions from study areas such as nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, speech pathology, occupational therapy, law, criminology, education, as well as student panels and campus tours. The University of Queensland is hosting a number of webinars, which may be of interest.

 

Do you like insects?  

Attend class as if you were at university and learn about the diverse careers in entomology that await you after you study a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at UQ. UQ are hosting a free webinar on Thursday 2 June from 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm.

 

Experience Zoology and Conservation Biology at a free webinar on Thursday 9 June from 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm.

The UQ Ramsay Scholarship offers students $30,000 per year, for the duration of the program (up to 5 years), for students undertaking a sequence of study in Western Civilisation. This scholarship is open to school leavers with Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency who intend to enrol in Bachelor of Advanced Humanities (Western Civilisation) (Honours) or Bachelor of Humanities / Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2023.

Clayfield College Futures Expo

Please join us at the Clayfield College Futures Expo on Monday 13 June from 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm in the Assembly Hall. Talk with experts from all the local universities, TAFE QLD and the Australian Defence Force. There will be representatives from local residential colleges available to talk with students who are looking for accommodation in Brisbane while they study at university. Axial Training, our in-school provider of vocational education courses, will also be available to talk with students about a diploma course they can undertake right here at school.
