Primary Diocesan Rugby Trials

On Monday 23 May, our St Philomena's Rugby Union team travelled to Tamworth to compete at the Armidale Diocesan Rugby Union Trials and Knockout Competition. The boys did a phenomenal job competing against various teams from around the Diocese.

It was a big day with the boys playing five games of Rugby Union, winning one of their games against Narrabri. The boys demonstrated great sportsmanship, exceptional tackling skills and teamwork. Well done to our St Philomena's Rugby Union team!

Thank you to Sylvester Joseph for coaching the boys on the day and to Cassie Coleman for managing our team!

A special congratulations to Hugh Makim, Kellam Joseph, Henry Chaplin, Zach Hobday, Hamish Coleman and Roger Vickery who progressed into the Possibles and Probables on the day. All six of these students were selected into the Armidale Diocesan Team. Hugh, Kellam, Henry, Zach, Hamish and Roger will represent the Diocese at the NSWCPS Rugby Union Championships in Forbes on Monday 27th June, 2022. 

St Philomena's Athletics Carnival

Our St Philomena's K-10 Athletics Carnival (track events only) will be held on Thursday 23 June at Boughton Oval. More details will be communicated closer to the date. 

The Years 3-10 Field Event Finals will be held on Thursday 16 June at school. Primary students will need to be nominated to participate in the competitive field events (high jump, long jump and shot put). Please refer to Compass for more details.
