Trustees at Work
Special Guests attend the Trustee's Meeting
Special guest from the Vatican, Don Sergio Massironi was accompanied by Adele Howard srm and Anne Walsh, KEM Board member to address and talk with the Trustees at their recent meeting.
Don Sergio spoke about the project ‘Doing Theology from Existential Peripheries.’ This project, which is close to the heart of Pope Francis, looks to link Laudato Si and Fratelli Tutti to people who live on the margins by listening to their voices and experiences. It is hoped that the ten teams who are examining ten different topics from Laudato Si and Fratelli tutti, will produce videos and guidebooks which will be shared at the Bishop Conferences. This project has come to fruition because the Pope is wanting to change the Church’s agenda and focus the energy at the peripheries.
Trustees meet with the Presentation Association Board
After almost three years, the Presentation Association Board and the Trustees were finally able to meet face-to-face for a long-awaited meeting. The room was abuzz with conversation and shared stories about COVID lockdowns, experiences of the pandemic and general catchups amongst old friends who had not seen each other for some time.
When the formality of the meeting finally began a wide range of agenda topics were discussed. The conversations were thought provoking, future focused and celebratory. With promises made to ensure that the next visit will not be so long in the making, the meeting ended with an echo from the launch of Kildare Ministries in 2014, and a quote from C,G, Jung
All true things must change and only that which changes remains true. Inspiring words for all of us to consider in our work. We remain focused in developing the KM narrative, honouring our past traditions, and mindful of our prophet voice in this contemporary world in much need of faith.
