Call out! 

Want to get more involved with your kids’ school, support the school community and meet people? Chelt’s Parents and Friends Association is being re-launched and we’re looking for hands to help with fundraisers, wellbeing drives, celebrations and social events. Please drop a line to pfcheltsec@gmail.com if you are interested to help out. 

 

Shout out! 

It was great to jump on board the election zeitgeist with a Chelt Democracy Sausage sizzle. A huge thank you to parents and staff who assisted in shopping, selling and sizzling on the day. You raised funds and helped raise the profile of the school in our local community. 

 

What’s up? 

Key initiatives from School Council at the moment include:

  • Uniform policy review; see the uniform survey results in this newsletter. Now the results are in, next we work on understanding student and staff priorities and adjusting the current policy as necessary to make the uniform even more relevant and usable.
  • Canteen; our contract with the current providers is due so we’ve organised a massive taste test of cakes and pies from possible canteen providers...just kidding – I wish! We’ve run a survey on what’s important and will be reviewing proposals to find the right provider for Chelt.  Stay tuned.
  • Looking at unifying school brand representation and where the school’s four houses fit.
  • Infrastructure planning to visualise the CheltSec of the future – buildings, grounds, facilities – and how we are going to get there to create the amazing school our kids deserve.

School Council Member Profiles

My name is Bridget and I joined the school council this year, after getting involved in 2021 on the Finance Sub-committee and have a background in Finance and Systems.

 

I have two children at Chelt, in Years 9 and 12, and I have a keen interest in the music program and the wellbeing of all our amazing students. 

 

My role on the School Council is Treasurer.  I am also a member of the Finance and Student Services Sub-committees.

 

I’m Susannah – this is my second year on school council where I am Co-Vice President.  I am also the Chair of the Engagement & Communications Sub-Committee and sit on the Buildings & Grounds Sub-committee. 

 

My son is a current year 11 VCAL student.

 

I work in marketing, and have particular interests in diversity, wellbeing and communication.
