NAPLAN, AtoSS and Pivot Updates

NAPLAN Update

The Year 7 and 9 students have now concluded with their NAPLAN online tests for 2022.

This year's participation amongst our Year 7 and 9 cohorts was outstanding despite the difficulties thrown our way due to COVID-19.

We thank all our parents/guardians and students in our community for making this a priority and doing their personal best.

NAPLAN reports will be released later this year to parents/guardians with their child's results so that they can see how their child is progressing in literacy and numeracy against the national standard and compared with their peers throughout Australia.  We will notify parents/guardians when these reports are being released.

School Surveys (Attitudes to School Survey and Parent Opinion Survey)

This year's Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) is currently underway.  The AtoSS is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist your child’s school in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experiences of school.

Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer and family relationships, resilience, bullying, mental health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.

The feedback these results generate is invaluable in helping the school understand student views to help guide the planning of programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.

Parents will also get an opportunity to provide their feedback to the school via the Parent Opinion Survey that will occur later this year.  Parents will be notified when this is available.

Pivot

As part of the college's commitment to continual improvement, a cohort of teaching staff will be embarking on a professional development program called Pivot.

Pivot is a valuable tool that facilitates meaningful feedback from students to the teacher to help inform their practice through their feedback platform.
