Diving into the Deep
Last week Years 4 5 6 wrote some stories after looking at an animation about where shipwrecks are found and just how deep underwater some of them have come to rest. They had some awesome ideas but unfortunately, we can only fit in a few. Hope you enjoy them!
As I went deeper in my submarine, I started to feel nervous, but I was determined to find some new stuff. I was reaching where no human had been.
I saw something in the distance. Something big. At first, I thought it was a big shipwreck but then it started to swim! It was a gigantic shark! I froze in horror! I was so shocked that I fainted! I fell on the control panel.
Instantly the submarine jerked back quick enough to lose that so called megalodon. I went back to the surface…
The End. Chapter Two coming soon.

As I went deeper into the ocean, I felt the submarine graze against the sand and then suddenly the sand disappeared! The sea was getting darker and darker and darker.
I saw turtles gently swimming near the submarine, dolphins juggling diamonds and doing flips and somersaults in the air, fish hiding, octopuses squirting out black ink everywhere and then… a shark! Luckily it wasn’t coming for us. Then it headed towards the school of fish. That did not end well.
The ship we found was huge, abandoned and old. It took us ages to get to the surface. That was an interesting journey.

The Scary Sea
As I went deeper it got colder in my snorkel gear. I felt a cold, slippery presence against my arm! I got scared so I swam away but I took a picture before I swam away. I was looking at the picture. I saw a big shark thing. I started to get scared and then I looked closer and it was a MEGALODON! AHHHHHHHH! OMG! Did a megalodon just touch me? EWW! OK. Bye.

As I went deeper, the colder it got. The only thing that was keeping me warm was my adrenaline.
I was determined to find the missing ship called the USS Johnston. It crashed in WW2 in 1944 in the Pacific Ocean. It has been over 75 years since it has crashed and I will find it if it is the last thing I do.
I am at 3km deep and still no sign of it. I will have to go deeper if I can…
Chapter Two coming soon.

Student Representative Council (SRC)
On Friday the whole school came together and voted for their new SRC representatives for Semester One. We are pleased to announce that Marshall is President, Coby is Vice President, Myrtle is Secretary, Hattie is Treasurer and Kirra and Kyesha are the Publicity Officers. Congratulations to all new office bearers. We know they will be excellent leaders...
Most of the time...
We will have our first meeting next week.
Congratulations!
Please thank your children for their excellent attitude and behaviour over the past couple of weeks. It has been an absolute pleasure to be with them at school. If a problem has come up, it has been sorted with a minimum of fuss, by staff and sometimes the children alone, here at school. We all feel very proud of them!
Communication is always the key to greater understanding. Please let us know if there are any issues we need to address. We reinforce this with the children and it is so important for us all to remember.
