Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

It is so great to see everyone back at school again in 2022, the Year of the Tiger! The children have all had a great start to the year and we are all looking forward to another year of fun and learning. Although we are still under some restrictions, we will continue to make school a safe and happy place for your children and thank you for placing your trust in us.

COVID Guidelines

This term we are asking all children and staff to continue to be aware of and practise good hygiene habits. Wash your hands frequently and well. Don’t come to school if you are sick. Staff all need to wear masks inside. Rapid Antigen Tests area available from school and we encourage you to make use of them, particularly if your child is showing any symptoms. Staff test twice a week.

Unfortunately, visitors (unless for teaching purposes) are still not allowed to come to school. We are also limited in our excursion options. We will continue to let you know when rules change and hopefully, we will return to normal sometime soon…

Until then, we will have to continue to be flexible... but hopefully not quite as much as Kyesha is in these photographs!

Staffing

This year Mrs Emerton will be at school all week and on class each Monday. On this day, she will teach Kindergarten to Year 6 in various areas of the curriculum that are compatible with such a range of ages. On the other days, Mrs Emerton will work with small groups and individuals to support learning, support staff and have her Principal office days.

We have two classes operating from Tuesday to Thursday. They are Kindy, Years 1, 2 and 3 (Dragonflies) in one class and Years 4, 5 and 6 (Butterflies) in the other.

Mrs Cecil will teach K123 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Miss Fish will teach K123 on Thursday and the whole school on Friday. Mrs Mac will continue to teach Years 456 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

We are fortunate to be able to retain the services of Donna in the role of Student Learning Support Officer for part of each day Monday to Friday. Sherrell has also retained her role as School Cleaner and we are very grateful for her hard work. Rusty has already done a wonderful job maintaining the grounds, even with all the rainy weather! Gaye is currently on leave from her role in the office until March, so please be patient when trying to contact the school and leave a message if you need to. You can also message Wendy.

Breakfast Club

Unfortunately, there will be no Breakfast Club until further notice. It will return in the future.

General Information

If your child is absent from school for any reason, please ring, email or send a note to explain the absence. The rolls we mark are legal documents and this information is a necessary part of them.

Our school hours are from 8.30 am, when the first bus arrives and the end of the school day is 3.10 pm. If your child has to catch the second bus, teachers stay to supervise until it leaves. If your child can catch the first bus, please ensure they do. If you are collecting your child from school, please be there to collect them at 3.10 pm.
