P & F News 

Hello St. Fidelis Family and Friends. Welcome to a NEW school year! The P & F committee are looking forward to organising a fun filled year with many social events and fundraising activities that will bring our community together. We already have a jam-packed Term 1 planned (see details below).

As always, we would like to welcome new members into our 2022 committee. We meet (on average) once a month, in a friendly and engaging environment to plan school events and fundraising activities. Joining the committee is a great way to extend friendships across your St. Fidelis community and gives you the opportunity to plan for and organise school events. So, if you have some spare time, have some great ideas, or would simply like to attend the meetings, please contact Josie Servello – President (contact details at end of article).

Icy Pole Fridays

This Friday the students will once again be given the opportunity to purchase an icy pole at lunchtime for ONLY $1 – so please remind your children to pack their dollar coin for school this Friday.

And a reminder that P&F members, along with parent volunteers are regularly required to assist in the organisation and distribution of icy poles to students. If you have some spare time on Fridays, we would really appreciate your help. You can add your name to the volunteer list by calling SANDRA on 0407 867 601, or alternatively you can email her at sbarone69@hotmail.com 

*Please note that currently parent helpers are not allowed on-site due to COVID restrictions, however assistance will be required in the weeks to come.

Bunnings BBQ

SAVE THE DATE! And join us at Bunnings Coburg for a sausage sizzle on Sunday 27th February. Tara Soares and the St. Fidelis P&F team will be hosting, and we can’t wait to see you there! This event is one of our MAJOR fundraisers for the year so we would like it to be as successful as possible. Part of that, is asking our St. Fidelis community (YOU) to assist us with this day. If you have some spare time on this date, even if it’s only 2 hours, we would LOVE and really appreciate your assistance. Part of volunteering may include cooking/serving the sausages and handling money. Family Fun Night

The P&F would like to welcome in the new year by hosting a ‘Family Fun Night’.

Date: Friday 18th March

Time: 5pm – 7:30pm

Venue: St. Fidelis School

The point of this event is to come together as a whole school community AND to welcome the new foundation families of 2022. Finer details of the event are still being finalised and will be communicated to you shortly. We can’t wait to see you there!

Second Hand Uniform Sale

The P&F will notify you of the next uniform stall in the upcoming newsletters, we are just in the process of finalising the dates. 

* We would also like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE THANK-YOU to all the families who continue to donate their pre-loved school uniforms, it is much appreciated. However, we would also like to make you aware of the condition that we require the school uniforms to be in, for re-sale:

• Please ensure that the uniforms you are donating are of a clean, school quality standard with no major stains, rips or fading. 
• Please, NO SOCKS or JOCKS!
• If possible, please ensure they are washed and ready for sale.

We simply request that you forward any uniform that you would comfortably allow your own child to wear. In addition to this, if we end up with too many items that we need to dispose of, it adds to unwanted landfill, which is an environmental concern and furthermore becomes a school COST to remove. We thank-you for your understanding on this matter and we look forward to receiving many more of your preloved school uniforms.

Lunch Order Days

Lunch order days (on average) run twice per term. The P&F are currently discussing what dates the lunch order days will run on, and what food items will be available for purchase. These details will follow in coming newsletters. Lunch order days are coordinated by P&F member, Rosie Piotti. Of course though, these days are more than a one person job, so if you are able to assist Rose on one of these days, please add your name to the volunteer list by contacting her on 0418 306 802, or alternatively you can email her at  rosemary4@iprimus.com.au

Hot Cross Bun Drive & Easter Raffle

During Term 1, we celebrate the coming of Easter with a ‘Hot Cross Bun Drive’ and ‘Easter Raffle’. Each of these events will run closer to the end of term and details on each event will be communicated to you as they progress. So please keep an eye out for SkoolBag App notifications, flyers and of course our weekly newsletter article for further details.

2021 P&F Event Financial Summary

Please see below for 2021 term by term profits:

• Term one total profit $13,967.53
• Term two total profit $1,456.15
• Term three total profit $908.51
• Term four total profit $3,223.07

TOTAL 2021 PROFIT: $17,533.76

The P&F are so proud of the effort and support that the St. Fidelis school community offered last year. As noted, a $17, 533 profit is one to be proud of. We have proudly donated $13, 500 to the school, which part of has already been used to purchase new basketball rings. Of course, the rest of the donated money will be put towards resources and items that our children will benefit from this coming year.

The top 4 one - off events for 2021 were 

• The Colour Fun Run, 
• Crazy Camel Artwork, 
• Tony’s Pie Drive and 
• Hot-Cross Bun Drive 

These events and results would not have been possible without the hard work from the 2021 P&F Committee, St. Fidelis Staff and School Community! So again, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to running another successful P&F year, this year!

Below is the current 2022 St. Fidelis P&F Committee Group. Formally, we would like to introduce ourselves and say HELLO. Together, we work hard to ensure that our St. Fidelis students, teachers, parents and extended community are given many opportunities to fundraise and socialise in a positive manner. We are also your point of contact for any school related P&F event queries. Come and introduce yourselves, or join the team if you would like!
