From the Principal

I would like to start by thanking our community for following advice and directions in regards to Covid safe practices. A reminder that Drop offs / and Pick ups remain at the school gates (for students in Years 1-6). Have you made a designated gate for pick up with your child yet? If not, please do so and we will support your children in meeting their parent at a gate. This direction is in place to minimise movement across the site.

Other protocols we are following include: opening windows to increase ventilation, using air purifiers, staff are wearing masks, parents are remaining outside of buildings and dropping off children at the gates (Reception children are dropped to the outside of the Vista building), staff are socially distancing, students have the option to wear a mask (it is encouraged for primary students), students who are unwell or displaying symptoms are asked to stay home, staff stay at home when they are unwell and letters are provided to students identified as classroom contacts.

We have increased our communication methods and have been posting classroom contact letters on Edmodo, emailing parents and providing hard copies. Some emails are bouncing back so if you have not yet received an email from us, and know your child was a classroom contact, please check your email address with the front office. If your email changes we also ask that you provide your updated email to the front office or email dl.1048.info@schools.sa.edu.au.

During this Covid pandemic we will continue to follow advice from the Department of Education and SA health.

Classes have been sharing learning through the Edmodo app. To see what your child has been learning you will need to either check the app regularly or turn notifications on. As this is one of our main communication methods it is important that parents look out for notices shared through this app. We are also trialing important notices to be sent out via both Edmodo and Email and are exploring options of a text messaging system (this would be for messages to be sent out to the school community and not for attendance purposes). Sending communication out via email requires families to keep us updated with an accurate email address and letting us know if anything changes.

If you have any further suggestions or feedback on school communication please email dl.1048.info@schools.sa.edu.au or Parent.Support483@schools.sa.edu.au. We value input and feedback from our community to support site improvement.

Finally, I would like to ask you to consider join our Governing Council for 2022. We welcome new members to continue to shape our school to support our learners succeed. See the information below and I look forward to working in partnership with you for a great 2022!

Regards,

Melissa Mills

Call Out for 2022 Governing Council Members

We would love for you to join our Governing Council - positions available.  Being on the Governing Council helps you meet other parents and community members, learn more about Para Vista Primary School and be involved in a sharing strategy and vision. You don't need any experience, just a vision for the future of the school, a positive attitude and an interest in seeing children and young people do well at school. If you're interested, check out the school website, speak to leadership or to the front office team and fill out an application form.

The AGM will be held on the 22nd March 5:30 - 6:00pm and is open to all Para Vista families. It will be held in the hall with attendees required to wear a mask, sanitise and socially distance. Please RSVP to the front office so we have an indication of numbers attending. Hope you can join us!
