Senior School Return to school report

After the last 2 years of highly disrupted learning, the newly expanded Senior School team are incredibly excited to welcome back to Woodmans Hill Secondary College, our year 10, year 11 and year 12  cohorts of students.

The Senior School team now offers increased support for each and every one of our students with the new addition of

Simon Brearley as our Year 11 and 12 Coordinator,

Shae Clifford returning as the Year 10 coordinator,

Jess Hollands as our VCAL program leader,

Jas Kaur as the VCE progam leader,

Carolyn Gregg in Careers Coordination,

Bart Turnbull-Gent as the Headstart Coordinator,

and myself Kaitlin Every as the Head of Senior School.

As an increased team we can cater to student needs and work towards providing the most engaging and supportive program possible in the final years of their education.

Senior school students returned over the 1st and 2nd of February, taking the morning to set themselves up for success – participating in some fun activities with their teachers, developing study timetables to use in organising their revision blocks each week and spent time running through key details and processes in year level assemblies before heading into their classes for the remainder of the day. As a senior school we were pleased to see our students in Year 10, VCE and VCAL starting back motivated and committed to write their own stories and focus on their studies.

Over the coming weeks and months the Senior School team will be working to engage our students and build their sense of belonging within the college – something of which has inevitably been difficult whilst in and out of remote learning during 2020 and 2021. We will be organising a range of events and activities for our students, kicking off with the Year 12 Retreat occurring on February 7th and 8th. The team will also be working to build student learning opportunities within their classes by working closely with the senior school subject teachers to enhance and improve the delivery of key curriculum. Keep an eye out for regular updates in future school newsletters to see what is happening across the Senior Years at Woodmans Hill.
