St Brendan’s Netball Club News

 

We are thankful that we have received several offers to help form our Club Committee this year.   Once more information on the 2022 season is available, we will be able to hold a Committee Meeting. 

 

However, last night the SNA (Shepparton Netball Association) held their Annual General Meeting where they were unable to fill the committee roles. 

 

At this stage both the Winter season and Twilight seasons are on hold until they can fill these positions, they are holding another AGM on Sunday, 27th February.

 

Until the SNA have their Committee in place, we can’t really hold a Committee Meeting as the Netball Season may not even go ahead. 

 

Two of our Club Committee members; Jo Ogilvie (Treasurer) and Kym Henderson (Registrations), are working in the background trying to understand the new ‘netball connect’ program that has also been implemented this year by Netball Victoria. 

All players will be required to use this for registrations.

EMAIL FROM THE SHEPPARTON NETBALL ASSOCIATION 

 

Dear COM Members and Club Contacts,

 

Thank you for attending the AGM Meeting tonight either via zoom or in person at the club rooms.

 

Unfortunately we had to close the meeting early due to not being able to fill the Executive Positions.  

 

Current vacant positions are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Sub Committee Members x 4

 We are also seeking expressions of interest for the vacant positions of:

  •  Convenor/s, (Morning, Afternoon or All Day)

      

Presidents Role

Chair and attend monthly committee meetings, assist other committee members when required, attending Netball Victoria quarterly president meetings (via zoom), assist with any complaints or issues that may arise, decision making/problem solving, and assist with registration nights and covid safe plans.  Also assists with presentations and programs such as the Coaching Program, and Activities in the Park.

 

Vice President

Assisting the President in the various roles and stepping in when the president is not available.  Also organising sponsorship and sponsorship publicity at the SNA courts/clubrooms

 

Sub Committee Members

Assist the Convenor/s with jobs such as putting the score sheets on the boards, write up and place umpire votes into the envelopes and collecting them at the end of the day, recording umpire votes on a spreadsheet, player recording and assisting with re-grading.  You are also welcome to attend monthly committee meetings with the Convenor/s.

 

A new date has been set down for the AGM to hopefully fill these positions to allow the season to run.  Without these positions filled, we cannot move ahead with the Winter/Twilight Competition this year.  

 

The new date allocated is:

 

Sunday 27th February

Time: 10.30am

Location: SNA Club Rooms

 

As per the AGM held tonight, we ask for representatives from all schools/clubs/associations to attend either in person or via zoom. 

 

A zoom link will be forwarded out prior to the meeting, HOWEVER, we would prefer everyone attend in person.

 

We look forward to filling these roles and having a successful 2022 season.
