End of Year Bush Dance
Tuesday this week saw all our students kicking up their heels as they took part in a bush dance workshop and a concert at school, led by the Billy Tea Bush Band. Then in the evening families from our school community gathered at the Chevalier Centre for our end of year Bush Dance. There were lots of smiles and loads of laughter as teachers demonstrated the dances with style, older students danced with younger ones, and children dragged their parents onto the dance floor!
Billy Tea’s Mick Quarrell says the great Aussie bush dance is a fantastic way of teaching, learning and building stronger school communities. “There’s nothing quite like seeing kids smiling and laughing around the dance floor with their grandparents, their teachers and their parents,” Mick says.
Thank you to all the students for participating with enthusiasm at school on Tuesday, and to all who came along to the evening Bush Dance and helped make it a great end of year community event!
