Careers and Pathways

Speaking to a Careers Practitioner

Your career pathway is unique to you.  There are many choices available and sometimes identifying your skills or knowing exactly how to achieve your career goals can be difficult. Speaking to someone about your career can be a great help with building confidence, recognising your strengths and finding work experience.  The people you speak to could be family members, friends, peers, or a professional careers practitioner.  If you wish to make an appointment to speak with Ms. Seremetis to discuss your career, subjects, or tertiary studies after year 12, please visit the Careers Office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays or email vseremetis@mazenod.vic.edu.au  The Careers Office is located within the Library in the O’Rourke Complex. Best of luck for the 2022 Academic Year!

Bachelor of Arts Reimagined

Swinburne’s Bachelor of Arts is changing, majorly from 2022.

Instead of choosing from a range of single arts subjects, the university has woven disciplines such as politics, history and sociology together into new themed majors including Politics, Power and TechnologyClimate and Social Justice; and Ethics and Technology.  So, students can connect their passion for a cause, to a course and a meaningful career.

Arts students will look at humanity and the complex issues the world is facing from multiple angles and look for innovative solutions. In addition, students will develop skills such as critical and creative thinking, problem-solving and digital literacy – all of which are sought after in a range of industries now and in the future.

Students can choose a Bachelor of Arts in a double degree, including a new Arts, double with Psychological Sciences to add depth to their chosen field or industry.  A reminder too, that with Work Integrated Learning guaranteed as part of the course, students will graduate with real industry experience and be ready to turn their passion into a profession.

Students can find out more at New Bachelor of Arts.

Year 10 Work Experience 2022

Welcome back to school! Let’s hope this year is a great year and Year 10 students can successfully participate in the work experience program. Unfortunately Covid-19 has meant that the year 10s of 2020 and 2021 had their placements cancelled due to lockdowns. We pray that 2022 is a better year for us all and that our students can experience the world of work later this year.

Congratulations to those year 10 students who have already returned their completed work experience forms to the College.  A reminder to all year 10 students that work experience forms must be returned to Ms. Seremetis by Thursday 7th April 2022.  This is the last week of term 1.

WORK EXPERIENCE DATES ARE MONDAY 20th – FRIDAY 24th JUNE 2022.

If you require a new Work Experience Arrangement Form or the full work experience information pack, please download the relevant documentation from MAZCOM: https://mazcom.mazenod.vic.edu.au/homepage/13956
