Principal's Message to the School Community

Dear KPS Community

As we reach the end of another busy term, I want to thank you for your continued efforts in the face of COVID-19 and winter illness in keeping our school as free from the virus as possible.  I wish to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of our Parents and Friends Association this year in particular the Mother’s and Father’s Day Stalls and the pulled pork stall at the Daffodil Festival.  The final financial details of these stalls are being reconciled and we will soon be able to announce the fundraising amounts from each event.  However, the events were much more about friend raising and being able to participate in community events again after such a long break.

As we move into Term 4 with the weather hopefully warming up and winter illness decreasing along with COVID-19 numbers we are looking forward to bringing our assemblies back to face to face events.  Initially just with our students and staff but hopefully after the Kyneton Cup week with community members invited too.

And thank you to everyone who was able to complete the Term 3 Parent Opinion Survey. Your feedback regarding our school helps us to continually improve how we support our community.

Whilst we have met several challenges and achievements this term, I am looking forward to Term 4 with a renewed sense of optimism as we continue to strive to get back to an increased sense of normality. I trust that all families will have a well-deserved term break .

Tutors To Continue Supporting Students In Our Schools

The Victorian Government is extending its successful Tutor Learning Initiative in 2023, making sure Victorian students continue to get the individual support they need to thrive and succeed throughout their schooling.

The Tutor Learning Initiative was first announced for the 2021 school year in response to the period of remote and flexible learning in 2020, and was continued again last year after feedback that it not only supported students to catch up on schoolwork, but provided the critical boost to confidence many kids needed.

Tutors work in small groups to provide tailored support for identified students who need assistance to catch up – regardless of their circumstances or background. The extension of tutors in 2023 will also ensure teaching teams can continue to provide dedicated and individualised support for students who need help.
