Flowery news for schools

The popular Angair Wildflower & Art Weekend will finally go live again this September, just in time for the start of the school holidays. Young visitors can win prizes in an insect-naming competition based on this year’s Angair show banner.

The show focuses strictly on the local. Only indigenous plants – those beauties native to the Surf Coast – will be on display. The art show will feature art works and photographs of local flora, fauna and landscapes created by local artists.

Other features include indigenous plant sales, orchid videos, a nature book stall and the customary guided walks in Anglesea’s spring bushland.

The show will be held at the Anglesea Community Precinct, McMillan St from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18. The entry fee  $5 for adults, $2 for pensioners and senior students and primary students are admitted free.
