Wangaratta Show

This coming weekend is the Wangaratta Show!

I have collected a range of artwork throughout the year to display for this weekend.

Here’s a sneak peek…

Last week the 5/6 students started on a mask project, specifically a Chinese dragon mask.

After thinking about how to view and respond to artworks from different cultures respectfully, students completed a directed drawing from Art for Kids Hub.

This week we will cut out and begin the processing of decorating the dragons.

Students in 3/4 have begun the term by looking at creating a stick puppet.

The students will complete two puppets in total, thinking about how to change the surface of the papers that they use to imply texture.

Those papers are then used as clothing.

This week we will add faces, arms and legs and will then look at creating some dialogue around the puppets to create a short play.

Students in 1/2 worked with dye.

After blobbing dye onto their page, students used a straw to blow the dye in different directions, creating interesting colours and shapes.

Students in Foundation created a panda mask last week.

After viewing the picture story book “Panda-monium” and considering why people might wear a mask, students completed a simple cut and paste to complete their pandas.

Once again students took these artworks home, so here is an image that they worked from.
