From Principal Steve - Brighton PS & LNP Announcement

Dear Parents and Carers,
On the 19th August 2022, the State Liberal and National Coalition announced a pre-election commitment to provide Brighton Primary School with $9 million to begin transformational improvements to our school, including a multipurpose library, STEM, art facility, and the development of a masterplan for future works.

BPS Facilities Masterplan - Overview
- You may recall that our School Council made the decision to fund the development of a Facilities Master Plan for Brighton Primary School (BPS) in late 2020.
- School Council selected architects Clarke Hopkins Clarke (CHC) to develop the Facilities Master Plan.
- Early in 2021, we arranged for CHC to meet with parents, students and staff to gather ideas and elicit feedback
- The purpose of this Facilities Master Plan is to upgrade our school design transforming our classroom learning environments to reflect contemporary educational design and a pedagogical approach based on current research.
- The school has been using this Facilities Master Plan to advocate for additional capital funds from the State Government to improve our school
This is an encouraging development for our school’s future. Our school community would welcome bipartisan support for our BPS Facilities Masterplan from both the State Government and the LNP. Our school council has engaged in several conversations with Nina Taylor requesting similar support from the State Government. We have not yet received a pre-election commitment from State Labor, however, would welcome their support for capital funds.
Please feel free to speak with members of our School Council if you have questions regarding the development.
Kind regards,
BPS School Council
