MGC Parents’ Fundraising Group Father’s Day Breakfast
The Melbourne Girls’ College Parents’ Fundraising Group held its annual Father’s Day Breakfast at 7am on Friday 2nd September after a challenging 2 years of postponed events. It was lovely to finally see dads, special guests and students enjoying a beautiful morning together, socialising and celebrating Father’s Day in the Gillard Centre overlooking the Yarra River.
It was fantastic to have our principal, Tamy Stubley who warmly welcomed our guests and chatted with attendees throughout the morning.
Students and their guests happily participated in some light entertainment with our pop culture quiz, prompting lots of discussions amongst the tables. We had over 45 students enter the draw to win a box of Maltesers. Alice from Year 7 took home the prize, maybe to share with dad?!
The PFG also put together a Father’s Day Raffle for all dads/guests who purchased a ticket and were in attendance on the day. They went into the draw to win some great Father’s Day prizes kindly donated by local businesses. Thank you to our sponsors for their generous donations and supporting our event.
Congratulations to the winners on the day:
Melbourne Fishing Charters – Fishing Voucher for 2 people valued $240
- Scott Leung parent of Jasmine year 11
Officeworks Richmond – Laser 10”Android Tablet valued $130
- Ian McPhee parent of Ella year 10
Bunnings Hawthorn – $100 Gift Card
- Simon Coburn parent of Millicent year 12

A big thank you to the PFG members who arrived bright and early to setup and serve the pre-packaged Bocca Foods breakfast boxes while keeping the coffee, tea and juice station fully stocked.
We feel fortunate to bring these wonderful PFG social events back onto the school calendar and create wonderful memories for the dads and students for years to come.
