MTB Club Championships on the past weekend and AGM

The weekend saw the local MTB scene super active yet again with our students and Staff having a blast with fine weather and a great turnout for the event. There were two courses for the event and all U13 riders followed the Green Arrwe Trail across the sand at the Telegraph Station up the Rock Garden before flying along Wallaby and linking back into the main race at Twin Rivers as they came back into the Telegraph Station completing 2 4.6km laps on their course. The Opens rode a longer version and headed through the gate at 4 posts and around Atyunpe/ Perentie before rejoining the juniors for the return into TGS. 

• Tom Stockwell (Current Year 12 Student) defended his Club Championship Title from 2021 by the narrowest of 17 seconds to Clive Hickey for the back-to-back win. The pair had been working each other very hard throughout the race riding the 27km course in 1:22:35! 
• U19's saw Connor Hestor come away with the win 1:40:36. 
• Andrea Gailey placed second in the U13 Female category. 
• Dynamic MTB Ex Activity Staff saw Stacey Gill with 3rd in the Open Female Category and Amy Stenniken placing 1st in the Recreational Female Category. Dave Atkins and Emma Shearer ran the event on the weekend. 

All category winners received repurposed bike parts as trophies with Support from Jen Robinson at the college with her name badge making prowess.
