CANBERRA CAMP

Following much deliberation and discussion, and consultation with DETs Regional Emergency Management Officer, it has been decided that the Canberra Camp will be cancelled due to the multiple road closures due to flood waters and damage.

While we are very disappointed by the decision, the ongoing flood situation both here and throughout NSW present too many safety risks to students and staff.

Full refunds will be provided to families, please complete this form to indicate how you would like your credit applied.  Jodi will endeavour to have these processed early next week.

Thank you for your understanding during these very challenging times.

MOSQUITOES

While the overall risk is low, some mosquitoes carry diseases.

Dusk and dawn are when most mosquitoes are active, but some will also bite during the day.

Please feel free to send your student to school with roll-on repellent, mozzie stickers or wristbands to help protect them at school during the day.

Students can protect against mosquitoes and the diseases they can carry by avoiding mosquito bites. To do this, you should:

  • wear long, loose-fitting clothing when outdoors and cover up as much as possible
  • use mosquito repellent that contains picaridin or DEET on all exposed skin.
  • limit outdoor activity if lots of mosquitoes are about.

The following link will take you to the Better Health Channel where you will find some great resources with helpful information .
