Celebrating all things great at the Grove.
November has arrived - it tricked us with some warm days and then the cold has hit again. I love to see the jacaranda trees blossoming this time of the year - that drive through the valley on the Warrego seeing the pop of purple is such a joy to the eyes.
We held our Prep orientation session this week & it was so lovely to meet our families and I am looking for to getting to know the new families to the school through the interview process and for the next year.
Our staff will be working on classes for next year over the coming weeks and students will find out their teachers on Move up day.
I am taking some leave this month - I am turning 50 & heading off for a week and a half to Singapore to celebrate. I am away from 21st until the 30th, Mrs McDougall will be Acting Principal in that time & she always does an amazing job.
On Friday the 28th of October we invited the most special of guests to our school to celebrate Grandparents Day. Our wonderful Grandparents visited classrooms and enjoyed morning tea with their grandchildren. Grandparents hold a very special place in our hearts and lives. To those helpful, present grandparents, we thank you and appreciate you. Check out our Grovers talking about how special their grandparents are to them and some photos from their visit to school.
At the end of each year we celebrate outstanding students who demonstrate school expectations and are outstanding members of the school. Over the years we have gone to Maccas for lunch, made our own pizzas and headed to Ipswich for the movies. We are still planning our 2022 celebration this year, but I wanted to let everyone know how I select the students that get to attend this event.

Here is to a fantastic month with outstanding learning!
