Boarding House Celebrate Night of Nights

Last Saturday night, the Boarding House held its annual end-of-year celebration under the balmy skies of Alice Springs. Everyone got into the spirit of the occasion, got dressed up, looked deadly, and had a great time. We had a large turnout, with a number of school and boarding staff coming along to help celebrate with the kids. Everyone enjoyed the magnificent food prepared by the catering team of Ketut Sunada and Lily Widya-Astuti (with support from Sandi Crogan). The evening was punctuated with stunning performances from Jordy Williams and Keneifa Hayes, who happily shared their talents with all. A number of boarders were recognised for their special contributions to boarding this year: Ella Williams, Daniel Campbell, Elly Green, Tyrone Malbunka, Samson Jones, Crystal Smith, Keneifa Hayes and Giann Campbell all won awards. The Kim McPartland prize – which goes to the two boarders who made the most significant contribution to Boarding in 2022 – was awarded this year to Agnes May and Teshaun Haines, both of whom were very worthy winners. Part of what I said to the assembled group was as follows:

It is our privilege to get to know you and to care for you; we should and do feel lucky to be walking alongside you for even a small section of your life’s path.

The positivity and sense of occasion that was shared by all on Saturday night confirmed this belief. We are indeed privileged to be working with your children.
