The Foundation students have had a busy couple of weeks in the lead up to the end of the year including the Diversity Dash, Japanese Day and Inflatable Day.

DIVERSITY DASH

The Foundation students had a blast celebrating our whole school Diversity Dash. The colours of the Diversity Dash provided the opportunity for the students to celebrate diversity and inclusion amongst our school community no matter their background, gender or ability.

JAPANESE DAY

Last Thursday, Upwey South Primary School celebrated Japanese Day. The students immersed themselves in a variety of Japanese inspired activities which celebrated some of the Japanese culture and traditions.

We began the day watching an Opening Ceremony and then had the opportunity to watch an amazing Karate demonstration. After recess, students created their own keychain with their Japanese Katakana name and an image or character from Japan. They made delicious Onigiri - Japanese Rice Balls and ate them! They also competed in the Japanese annual national tournament game of Pillow Dodge.

INFLATABLE WORLD

The students had an amazing time experiencing all the different inflatable sports. They were playing soccer, shooting hoops, kicking goals, marking footy's and jumping and bouncing!

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR AND

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Well what a year we have had! We cannot believe how much all the Foundation students have grown, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. They are certainly ready to tackle Year One with success. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each and every one of the students and have developed great relationships with them and will be sad to see them go. We will miss them all and are looking forward to seeing their smiling faces out in the yard next year!

We would like to thank each and every one of you for all your support throughout the year, we really appreciate it! We wish you all the best for a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year and hope you have a wonderful and relaxing break. We look forward to seeing you all around the school in 2023!
