School Enrolments
Make in informed-decision for your child's education
As a 'school of choice' for families across the Dandenong Ranges/Knox area, enrolments for our school continue to be in high demand.
Existing Families/ Sibling Enrolments
Existing families/sibling enrolments are guaranteed for 2024, although we do ask that families action an enrolment before May 31st 2023. This is an important action for you to undertake, as this then allows our school to appropriately manage and action 'out of zone' enrolments.
New Families to the School
Please refer to the information below regarding school tours, and seeking information that will allow you to make an informed-decision about your child's enrolment.
We generally hold our school tours on a Tuesday or Thursday morning, commencing at 9:05am. Where possible we try to have no more than four families attending per tour so that you may be engaged in meaningful conversation. Should you prefer not to tour within a group setting, we do hold personalised tours upon arrangement.
When considering a school for your family, we encourage parents/carers to attend a personalised tour (as opposed to an Open Day) as this presents you with a more authentic opportunity to speak with staff, ask questions, and view what happens around the school on a daily basis.
During a school tour there are the five key areas/questions you should consider when making an informed-decision about school selection.

To assist you in making an informed decision, we suggest that you visit the websites of the schools which you are considering (although content can often be out-of-date). Therefore, committing the time to read through a school’s newsletters will provide you with a strong understanding of the day-to-day happenings within the school. You can also be assured that newsletters contain authenticity of content, as the target audience are existing families.
Our school newsletters can be found @ http://www.upweysthps.vic.edu.au/usps-community/news-and-events/newsletters/
Our school information for enrolments can be found @ http://www.upweysthps.vic.edu.au/enrolments/ .
In particular, we encourage you to commit the time to read the School Information Booklet, and view our School Instructional Model.
We deliver evidence-based learning for our students by actively engaging in professional learning, maintaining up-to-date assessment data, accessing reliable sources of professional information, utilising the School’s Data Centre to document achievements, actions, and evidence through school-wide data tools.
We act promptly to support all students, staff, and community members, through providing timely information. We take action with a positive mindset, informing relevant others of our actions, and promoting a collective responsibility for student learning.
We work as a school-wide team of professionals to provide consistency in daily routines and structures for our students.
The actions of the adults in our school are predictable, compassionate, calming, and supportive at all times.
We provide our students with an orderly learning environment, which is free of clutter, reflects current student achievements, and promotes a collective responsibility for shared learning spaces.
We work hard to acknowledge on-task learning behaviours, and encourage students to regulate their learning through the Berry Street Educational Model.
Students: our students are at the centre of everything we do
Staff: building staff capacity to achieve our guiding principles is paramount
Community Partnerships: our positive school-wide culture for learning is supported through effective partnerships with our families.
