An Overview of our Learning

What an amazing year we have had! I'm so proud of all the work our students have produced, stretching their creative minds and making design decisions to make their work unique. As we reach the end of the year and the work starts to go home, I encourage you to put your favourite pieces on display, on the fridge or better yet, in a frame. We are our own worst critics of our own work, so I always encourage the students to show and adult before they do anything rash with their work. We can't keep it all though, so take photos of your favourite pieces and watch how they develop their own style over time.

Thank you so much for a great year and I look forward to some exciting possibilities next year.

It's been such a joy to see all the foundation students develop their own styles and develop their skills across the year. We spent some time developing our own personal portfolios to bring all the fabulous work home. I love this project because of the freedom each student has to create their own design and include whatever springs to mind, but also because of the exclamations of joy as they rediscover projects we did at the start of Semester 2 and chat about their favourite things.

Romero Britto inspired collaborative work, personal portfolio designs and stained glass windows. We've been busy painting, drawing and using our creative brains to produce unique designs and colour schemes to brighten our hallways.

3/4's have finished their geometric watercolour paintings and are ready to take all their work home. It's been a busy Semester with a big focus on our sewing project, so it was nice to break out the paints once more to finish up.

Tim Burton inspired portraits were a big hit with the 5/6s to finish off our year. These gothic fantasy characters bring together all the work they have been developing around shading, proportion and contrast. Well done to everyone for their amazing effort.
