Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

It's hard to believe we have just passed the halfway point of term 1.  It's been a bit of a whirlwind with the 5-day lockdown taking place in week 4.  Thank you to all parents and carers for supporting your child/ren during this time and to staff for transitioning so smoothly to the remote learning platform.

Our first School Council meeting for 2021 took place on Wednesday 24th February.  I would like to congratulate the following on their appointments to the key roles below:

School Council President - Brian Bird

School Council Vice President - James Fletcher

School Council Treasurer - Victoria Trainor

School Council Secretary - Deborah Lawson and Lisa Clausen

The following sub-committees will be in operation this year:

Buildings and Grounds

Fundraising

Community Connections

Finance

Education

If you would like to get involved with any of the above committees please email Brian Bird at brian.bird@education.vic.gov.au.

BUILDING WORKS

We have two projects about to commence:

  1. Upgrade to Wellington St playground surface and retrofitting of existing staff toilet at Organ Factory - this work will commence after the March long weekend.  There will be fencing installed on both sites and we will have limited access to some areas of the school.  We expect this project to take 6-8 weeks.
  2. CHPS School Expansion project - the tender process is complete and once contracts between the appointed builder and the VSBA are signed we would expect to see work begin on this project towards the end of this term/early next term.  This is a very exciting project for our school which we anticipate to be finished in the first half of 2022.  We will keep the school community updated through the newsletter.

We look forward to seeing our families at the Parent-Teacher Information Day on Wednesday 3 March.

Kind Regards

Megan
