Most schools are trying to build sound educational values and create a culture around them. Huntingtower has been doing this for over 90 years. Its values are not just talked about - they are rooted in its ethos and its Christian Science origins. This makes Huntingtower unique.

The key Christian foundations upon which Huntingtower's values are founded come from:

  • Seeing our students as made in the image and likeness of God.
  • Seeing God as infinite love, goodness and infinite intelligence.

Our school motto Know thy True Self refers to our true spiritual self.

So how is this manifested in our daily activities?

Our staff try to:

  • See good in their students and help the students see that goodness for themselves.
  • See their students as expressing unlimited intelligence and help them demonstrate that – avoiding labelling / judging / pigeonholing.
  • Separate sometimes imperfect behaviour from what they know is a perfect child.
  • Maintain high expectations of what students can achieve based on the above.
  • Magnify the good and constantly try to uplift thought.
  • Show gratitude for progress.
  • Practise the golden rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you and always be kind.

Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy p. 520:3–5:

'Unfathomable Mind is expressed. The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all space. That is enough!'
