Parents and Friends

The Huntingtower P&F Committee welcome all our new students and their families, together with returning students and families, to the year ahead at Huntingtower.

Whilst the year ahead may be uncertain, we will be kicking the year off with a sure thing – the P&F Welcome Picnic.

Please gather your families and friends and join us in the Huntingtower quadrangle (behind the PAC) on Friday evening of February the 26th from 6 pm.  There will be a free sausage sizzle and the HT coffee cart as well as entertainment provided by our talented HT students.  We extend our welcome to all families and their friends, from all of Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.  We will be joined by members of the Huntingtower staff, who will be kept busy meeting and greeting (as well as turning sausages at the grill).  Join us for an informal evening of “friend-raising” and entertainment as we extend you a warm Huntingtower welcome to 2021.

Members of the P&F Committee are preparing for the key meeting of the year, the Annual General Meeting.  This keystone event really gets the year off to a flying start.  It is the meeting that sets down the committee’s plans for the year ahead and sets the groundwork for key P&F events and fundraising.  It will be attended by our esteemed Head of School, Mr Houghton.

Equally importantly, we will have our wonderful new group of Class Representatives with us as we start the ball rolling for another year.  There is additionally the formal aspect of the meeting – the election of P&F Committee office bearers – President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Should you be interested in the P&F process or are simply interested in joining the committee for 2021, we warmly invite you to attend. The AGM will be held at 7pm on the evening of Thursday, March 11.

The P&F Committee 2021

We are always looking to welcome new members to the Huntingtower P&F Committee.  Our AGM is the final meeting for our 2020 committee and we look forward to welcoming our Class Representatives for the year ahead as well as inviting new and existing parents to the school to participate and join the committee for 2021.

Whilst a part of the P&F’s role is fundraising, we feel that even more important is our role as organisers and a focal point for community-building, social events and, as we like to say, “friend-raising”.

Should you be interested in deepening connections with the school and parent communities, the P&F Committee is probably for you. Membership is not an onerous commitment and involves attending monthly meetings and assisting with P&F-organised events.  If you are interested in joining, please email our secretary, Lana at parentsandfriends2@outlook.com or complete and submit the expression of interest form on the P&F Firefly page.

The P&F Committee is appealing for a  Class Representative candidate for 2021.  Most positions have been filled but we require a parent representative for the Year 11 group.  This role is not onerous and is a terrific opportunity to connect with the other parents in your child’s year level.  Please consider becoming involved in this rewarding role.  If you are interested or keen to know more, please enquire by email at parentsandfriends2@outlook.com  It would be wonderful to have this position filled by our AGM on March 11 so that the year can then start in earnest.
