FAIRVALE SPORT PAGE 

Lansdowne Zone PSSA usually awards Zone Blues at the end of each year to recognize outstanding sports people in our zone. This year has been a little different and as a result, students have not had the same opportunities to represent our Zone and region in PSSA activity. 

Instead, a decision has been made to award a special one-off trophy this year so as our most outstanding students are still being recognised. To qualify, schools had to demonstrate outstanding school achievement in sport this year and possible 2020 zone representation, as well as outstanding zone and regional achievement last year in 2019. Two students across our 12 schools have received this award in 2020, with one of these students being from Fairvale PS. 

This year this student has;

• represented our school in both Season One and Season Two PSSA sports, and was award as the Best and Fairest Player in both of these teams.
• He was our schools Athletics Champion for 2020 and should have represented our zone in Athletics, as he did last year.
• He intended to trial for the Zone Opens Rugby League team and should have been selected if trials had not been cancelled. He was chosen to represent SSW Region at the State Carnival in 2019.
• He also plays Rugby Union and would have been encouraged to trialled for the Lansdowne Zone Rugby Union team.
• As Fairvale’s Best and Fairest boys Touch player this year, he would have also been encouraged to trial for the Zone Boys Touch team, of which I have no doubt that if he trialed, that he would have represented our zone and possibly our region in Touch Football.
