Dear Parents/ Carers

PARACHUTING AROUND THE SCHOOL WITH MR PITT

Thank you everyone for another wonderful year of ‘parachuting around the school’. Spending time talking to the children and teachers about learning is my favourite part of the week. Thank you to the teachers and children for inviting me into their classrooms/ learning spaces this year. The parachute is currently at the dry cleaners, ready to start all over again in 2021.

We hope you have had the chance to view our various links to our end of term events over the past few days. We really tried to keep the community connected at this time and thank you to the parents/ carers who have thanked me for this. A lot of time and effort has gone into the planning and the biggest thank you must go to Mrs Olivera – her talents amaze me each and every year.  I would also like to acknowledge some other staff members who assisted with the recordings this year – Mrs Garbin, Miss Tran, Mr Nguyen and Miss Diep.

In 2021, students return to school on Friday 29 January. Kindergarten students will commence in Week 2 – Monday 1 February. We will be trialling a new approach to start the new year whereby students will remain in 2020 classes. Some classes will have their 2020 teachers whilst other students will have another teacher. We aim to commence in 2021 classes in Week 3 – Monday 8 February, 2021. If you are planning on returning late to school or leaving the school, please contact the school office.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

The end of the year means we say farewell to some of our families in our school community, many of whom have been here for 7 years and in some cases even longer. Best wishes to all for the future. Children, remember to work hard, listen to your parents and have loads of fun! Being happy is important! On behalf of the staff at Fairvale Public School, I wish all of our children and families best wishes for a safe holiday season. It’s been such a challenging year, so enjoy this time together with your extended family and friends. For those in our community that participate in Christmas festivities – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

I am looking forward to working with you all again in 2021.

Have a great fortnight,
