Message from College Council President

Congratulations Glenn Morris

Approximately four months ago, Mrs Eva McMaster took on a role with the Department of Education and Training (DET) in an area role.

Since then, Assistant Principal Mr Glenn Morris stepped up to take on the Acting Principal role. In October, myself and a panel comprising members of the school community and DET representatives undertook the process to find the best candidate to take our school into the next growth phase of its journey.

It gives me great pleasure to announce to you that Mr Glenn Morris will begin his tenure as Principal of Doncaster Secondary College on the first day of Term 1, 2021. Glenn is well known to members of our community and for his work at the College over many years, including five years as Assistant Principal and eight years as a Leading Teacher. Glenn has taught at Doncaster Secondary College for nineteen years and knows our school inside out. In addition, he was a student at the College and even volunteered his time to the school during his time at University. His passion for Doncaster Secondary College is overwhelming, and I am excited to see where he will take our school in 2021 and beyond!  Please join me in congratulating Glenn on such a prestigious and well-deserved appointment.

I would also like to pay tribute to Glenn in his stellar leadership of the DSC community in a period that can only be described as unprecedented, challenging and one for the record books.   The entire teaching staff and support personnel need to be congratulated on the amazing job they have done in 2020. Here’s hoping 2021 is a little less eventful!

Finally, with only a few weeks remaining until the end of Term 4, on behalf of the School Council, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone all the very best for the festive season. For those families leaving the College, I wish you all the best for the future, and for those families returning to us in 2021, stay safe and enjoy the newfound freedoms we are starting to enjoy once again! We certainly have earned a break from screens and the virtual world! Take time to reconnect in person with your loved ones.
