Senior School College Swimming Carnival - Monday, March 1

College Swimming Carnival has been rescheduled for Monday, March 1.

Non-competitive swimmers will come to school, have their attendance marked in Homeroom and then board the busses to Junee for the day. The busses will return students back to the College before 3:10pm so students can catch their regular bus home.

Competitive swimmers will make their own way to the Oasis (one bus will be made available to transport students to and from school if they require) and will be dismissed from the carnival at the end of the day.

All students have selected which event they would like to attend. Students need to see Mrs Kjaer if they have a question regarding the carnivals. Both swimming events are parent/spectator free events. This is required so that we can adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.

BISSA Swimming and Diving - Thursday, March 4

The BISSA swimming and diving carnival will be held at the Oasis Swimming Pool. Students attending the College Competitive Carnival have automatically qualified for BISSA due to the organisational implications of postponing our original carnival date due to poor weather. Students will attend a meeting next week to receive a permission note and enter them into their events ready for the carnival.

Please note, parents are unable to attend this event due to the limitations of numbers permitted at the carnival. We understand that this may be disappointing for you as parents, but we are required to adhere to the guidelines that are in place to keep our community safe. The College will ensure that we update the website with images and results of the days competition.

NSWCIS Website - Representative pathways

The NSW Combined Independent Schools Sports Council (known as CIS) is the College’s pathway to State and National level competition in a wide variety of sports for students in the independent sector. Please make yourself familiar with the website:

https://www.cis.nsw.edu.au/

This website is your first point of information. Dates of trials and competitions are all located on the website.

If your child is interested in participating, they need to speak to the Representative Sports Coordinator (Mrs Kjaer) about registration at least one week prior to the closing date of registration. The Representative Sports Coordinator will then initiate the registration and email the students parent/guardian to complete the registration process. Once you have been registered you are responsible for the details of the event including transport and accommodation. Please inform the College of student results at the completion of the competition so that points can be allocated to Sports Star of the Year and we can share achievements via the College Newsletter.

Good luck to Lucy McKelvie Hill who is trialling for the NSWCIS Open Girls Cricket team in Sydney today!
