Positive Climate for Learning

Specialists

Visual Art and Performing Arts

Over the past few weeks the specialist team and students have been working very hard on the virtual Art show and concert (Artsfest).

Students have been engaging in their Performing Arts class to run dress rehearsals and film their class routines. While in Art students have been finishing off their final pieces of artwork to be displayed on the website for week 11. All students in the school should be extremely proud of their work for Artsfest and we know they are all very excited to show their families at home next Tuesday.

On behalf on Leanne, Bec and Zoe we would like to say a big thankyou to all who have been involved in helping bring the virtual Art show and concert together.

Make sure you look out for the link Tuesday on compass. We can’t wait to show you all of the amazing and talented work the students have done.

  PE

In foundation PE during Term Four we concentrated on team building skills and building confidence in Physical Education classes with a focus on key Fundamental Movement Skills such as punting, kicking and striking. This has involved activities that were designed to help further develop the fundamental motor skills through basic games and activities.

This semester in Physical Education, the students in year 1-2 have explored a range of Fundamental Movement Skills and have worked on improving their confidence and competence with these skills. Students have been focusing on improving both the forehand and two hand strikes, punting, kicking and throwing.

In 3-4  PE students have been concentrating on further developing their fundamental movement skills through a number of skill specific activities as well as game based scenarios relating to both Invasion games, Net/Wall games and Striking and Fielding games.

This term students in year 5-6 have continued to further develop and explore ways to improve and challenge their Fundamental Movement Skills through competitive game scenarios and skill based activities. This development has seen all students explore different Invasion games, Net/Wall games and Striking and Fielding games.
