Welcome - in Brief!
It’s about Donvale now and it’s about Donvale then. And it’s about where you, our alumni, are acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly.

The picture above tells two stories. The obvious one - it's Christmas, and I wish you all the joy, peace and hope that a celebration of Jesus' birth brings. Slightly less obvious - the yellow cross on floor tells us it's 2020, a reminder of the year when we learnt the phrase "socially-distanced." But you can relax a little - none of the parcels contains hand sanitiser.
In this issue of Now and Then you can read a report on our two building programs; a letter to the Class of 2020; a great perspective on the shepherds and the angels; an appreciation of the life of one of our early principals; there are links to videos and podcasts - and an opportunity to hear from one of our alumni.
How about this memory of Donvale?
Something I remember fondly is the morning classes in Year 12. At the time it was the bane of my existence but now I remember everyone being half asleep, the coffee and the fruit toast. Every time I smell fruit toast and butter all I think about is those morning classes.
Starting at Donvale I was very confused about where all the classes were and how I would be able to navigate to my classes but by the end I knew every hill and every short cut to avoid the hills to every class. Donvale taught me a lot about myself. I am forever grateful.
Nikky van Dyk, Class of 2015
