Foundation:

During the first two weeks, students will be introduced to concepts involved with Fundamental Movement Skills. Students will develop an understanding of the importance the body plays when moving through motion and what it can and cannot do at different speeds. During these learnings, there will be elements of acceleration and deceleration taught through mini games such as whistle freeze and capture the flag.

Level 1 & 2: Students in the level 1 and 2 cohorts will revisit concepts that relate to Fundamental Motor Skills. In their first session, we will strictly target moving through motion while playing mini games. This will teach the students how important the body and its movement are. In the second session, we will begin to focus on the underarm throw technique (Tik, Tok, Step and Rock). This will be achieved both through visual and practical learning.

Level 3 & 4: In the first fortnight, our level 3/4 students will work through both fitness and skill testing. The purpose of these lessons will be to identify student skill sets, which will inform future teaching. We will also use these tests as a means for a starting point with the intension to re-rest students at the end of term two to track their progress.

Level 5 & 6: In the first fortnight, our level 5/6 students will work through both fitness and skill testing. The purpose of these lessons will be to identify student skill sets, which will inform future teaching. We will also use these tests as a means for a starting point with the intension to re-rest students at the end of term two to track their progress.
