As Term 4 comes to an end.....
It has still been very busy here at the College. Year 5 and Year 6 students and staff managed to sneak in their camps and had a great time. On Monday evening our Year 10 students celebrated with a dinner at Club Old Bar. Our award winners were recognised at small ceremonies this week. Kindergarten for 2021 had their Orientation Day yesterday.
Today the chords of 'Splish Splash' could be heard echoing across the playground as Kinder to Year 2 enjoyed water based land activities. While our Year 5 and 6 students have headed out to Forster for a beach day for their last sport day of the year.
Next week, Year 6 students will celebrate the end of Primary school with a 'Back to the 80's' themed evening. Then next Wednesday will be the final day for students for 2020. Students may wear their sports uniform with appropriate Christmas accessories. Our Senior leaders have special activities planned for the day.
Keep your eye on our Facebook page to see photos of all the end of term happenings.
Exciting Uniform News
After an extensive consultative process with students, staff and families the College Board has approved our new student uniform. There is some fine tuning to do, however on the whole our new uniform has been overwhelmingly well received. The uniform will now move into production phase. There will be a two year change over, with all students expected to be in the new uniform by Term 1 2023.
On behalf of the Board we would like to thank families for their input. Whilst the final decision can never satisfy all tastes and expectations the new uniform will be:-
These outcomes have guided the entire process. Final samples will be on display in the foyer from next year.

Parent Lounge coming in January 2021
In 2021 we will launch the TCC Parent Lounge, this will be a new way for the College to interact with our families. We are working on setup of the Lounge now and hoping to give you access towards the end of January. This will replace the current Parent Portal. Parents and carers will be issued with their own login details. The Parent Lounge will be a great tool for families to easily stay up to date with all that is happening at TCC in 2021.
On the Lounge you will be able to see coming events, attend to absences, email teachers, check your fee balance, update vital medical information, view timetables, book Parent Teacher Interviews, track academic progress and give permissions for excursions - all in the one place.
The Lounge will be easy to use, and we will assist you in becoming familiar with it. We believe having all this information at your fingertips will make communication between families and the College simple and streamlined.
With 2020 leaving us feeling a little disconnected with our families we look forward to the Parent Lounge assisting in rebuilding our sense of community and we hope and pray that 2021 will allow us to reconnect with our families personally as well.
Time’s Up
In February 2000, I walked into my first Independent School, after working in Government schools, and I did not look back. For twenty years and nine months, I have gladly served at Taree Christian College, meeting so many unique characters in my journey from classroom practitioner to coordinating education support.
As I lay aside my chalk and whiteboard markers with a mixture of sadness and some relief, I wish to thank the College community, (parents, students and staff), for a memorable and enjoyable experience. I have learnt so much from so many and feel enriched by my relationship with a College that reveres and honours the Creator of this world and who is Lord over all.
I trust this relationship does not end here. I extend a huge thank you to our families and staff members who have made my life so much richer.
I wish you many Godly blessings and an enjoyable and meaningful Christmas season.

Building Works continue....
There has still been the sound of power tools in the mornings at the College, as the hospitality area has its foundations laid.
The new Senior area is taking shape, it will be exciting to see all these projects finished ready for the 2021 school year.
2021 Fees Policy
Please be aware for 2021 the College Fee Policy and Enrolments Policy conditions will change. Although the change is minor it does have a significant effect. The clause regarding departing the College 'without adequate notice' has been simplified. We still require a full term's written notice to the Business Manager. If this requirement is not met a 13 week fee penalty will apply, previously this could be up to 20 weeks. We believe this change is fair to the College and our families. This clause encompasses all students enrolled at the College. The new Fee Policy for 2021 will be available on the College Website before Christmas.

Year 8 Excursion
On Tuesday 24 November, Year 8 students attended an Indigenous history and culture excursion. The students visited a variety of sites of cultural and historical significance in our local area, where they were guided by Uncle Mick Saunders. Uncle Mick taught about the Indigenous history of our area, as well as telling stories about what it was like to grow up in an Aboriginal family in Taree. We visited the Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre in Purfleet where students enjoyed a presentation from staff about the holistic health and wellbeing services provided by the Centre. You may have even seen them on the news.
