Welcome Back for Semester 2

What a fantastic first semester we had in Mellor, full of fun, friendship and learning! The first few weeks of the year saw classes building routines and expectations which set them up for a successful semester.

Term 1 highlights included Sports Day, Harmony Day and a number of assemblies where the Mellor students successfully shared many aspects of their learning. One particular highlight was when the Crows came to visit the assembly. Term 2 highlights included a fantastic trip to Monarto Zoo, Crazy Hair Day and Reconciliation Week. 

Last term, we implemented a whole school approach to keeping our school tidy and litter free. Two days a week, the bell goes 5 minutes early  to ensure that everyone is responsible for keeping our school clean and tidy. It has also been pleasing to see that some students are continuing to keep the school clean in their own time as well.

As we settle into Term 3 we want to remind families of the importance of regular home reading.  It is an expectation that reading is recorded on  a daily basis in your child's reading toolkit folder.

The Connect Four Mellor homework grid is published every 3 weeks and gives a variety of ideas and tasks for your child to complete at home. We encourage students to bring in their learning from home to share with us.
