Awards Evening

I would like to commend all the Senior School students that have received awards his year. Over 40 Senior School students will be receiving awards. This special recognition highlights achievements across both the academic and co-curricular programs, leadership, community service, and behaviour. 

Transition

Over the past two weeks, our students have been involved in a number of activities as part of the annual transition program. We have generally been very pleased with the strong attendance rates, and the students’ overall positive engagement. This all bodes well for ensuring the students start the year off on a good note, ensuring that they have at least read their first English novel, and undertaken the set holiday tasks in all subjects will also be key.

Preparation for 2019

We expect all Year 12 2019 students to be present at School on Thursday, 31st January. This is an important day that will include the Class of 2019 photograph. For students returning in Years 10 and 11 2019, their first day will be Friday, 1st February.

Acknowledgements

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the staff in the Senior School for their work and efforts in 2019. In particular, during my time as Acting Head of Senior School, I wish to thank Soula Mitsopoulos, whose administration support in the Senior School has been exemplary, ensuring the very smooth running of the School. In addition, the Home Group Teachers, Hui Harvey, Michelle Mascaro, Steve Zafiropoulos and Manoj Patel are also deserving of praise and sincere thanks. I have also appreciated the support of Mrs Margot Ruth, in helping me to ensure the Deputy Principal responsibilities have been able to continue.  

One of the most rewarding aspects of undertaking this role during Term 4, is that it has provided me with a great opportunity to get to know a lot more of the Senior School students. I am looking forward to continuing to be able to support them in 2019.
