Child Safety Presentation at PFA Meeting

PFA Meeting

Thank you to the many parents who braved the cold air (outside and inside) to come to the PFA meeting on Thursday night.

The turn out was very encouraging and we had an informative session on Child Safety led by parent Fiona Bligh who is the  Safe Church Facilitator for the Safe Church Unit of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.  www.safechurchpcv.org.au

We also had a look at the new school app from www.tiqbiz.com.au and parents decided to allocate $25,000 towards new toilets for the Junior School. The PFA has recently bought a  defibrillator  for the school which will be housed in the school office.

The new venue of the meeting room in the Innovation Centre was convenient and we finished the night with some fellowship, hot drinks and snacks.

Term 3 competition

Prize Lights!

In keeping with this year’s Outback Savers theme, the Dollarmites have discovered Prize Lights in the Outback sky and want to share these spectacular prizes with School Bankers.

Simply make three or more School Banking deposits during Term 3 for a chance to win one of the Star Saver prizes, this includes camping kits, instant cameras and magazine packs.

This year we have a second prize pool available. Students who complete the fun Stargazing online activity, along with making their three deposits during Term 3, will also go in the separate draw to win one of 50 Supernova prizes – PlayStation 4 packs.

We’re also giving schools a chance to win one of 75 bags full of sports equipment, valued at $200, when at least one student makes three School Banking deposits during Term 3.

School Banking tokens and rewards

Recently some parents have expressed concerns about Dollarmite tokens and how rewards are distributed to student bankers.

Each deposit made through the school entitles the banker to one silver token. Students must bank 10 times through the school in order to redeem a reward. Students can do that by submitting the reward coupon together with their 10 Dollarmite silver tokens (or 1 Dollarmite Gold token) on banking day. Reward items ordered normally arrive at school within 1-2 weeks and will be distributed back to the student from their classroom.

School banking takes place at St Andrews each Tuesday morning. The money is collected and processed by a small team of volunteer mums who give their time generously. While every effort is made to ensure that tokens are placed in each student banker’s wallet, on rare occasions some tokens may be missed. This could be overcome with more volunteers, so parents please email us if you can help.

We want to assure parents that regardless of how many tokens are in your child’s wallet, the Commonwealth Bank keeps an accurate tally of the number of deposits each student makes, and therefore the number of tokens they are entitled to. Parents can email us and we will check the Commonwealth Bank records for your child’s token tally.

New School Banking rewards now available!

The Flying snake (Term 1 item) and Mud splat hand ball(Term 2 item) are both out of stock. But  these exciting new Term 3 rewards with an Outback Savers theme are now available. Redeem your reward while stocks last!
