Steam Rally Activities

Some families may have seen an article in the Riverine Herald today about the Steam Rally children's activities and colouring competition.

Students  will be able to collect an image to colour from Kylie or Lisa in the Primary School Office and all entries  need to be returned by Tuesday 4 June.

Top students from each level will have their work displayed at the Steam Rally on June 8-9.

Boomerang Bags working bee

Boomerang Bags is a grassroots, community driven movement tackling plastic pollution at its source.  Volunteers from all walks of life get together to make reusable ‘boomerang bags’ using recycled materials, as a means to provide a sustainable alternative to plastic bags.  The bags are given away to friends, family, colleagues, bag-less strangers and so on, as a plastic bag alternative that can be used and reused, or passed on to others in need.  (www.boomerangbags.org).

Moama Anglican Grammar Primary is joining forces, for the second year running, with Boomerang Bags Echuca Moama. The Parents and Friends group are aiming to up-cycle old pillow slips into Boomerang Bags.  These will be used in the schools uniform shop to help combat single use plastic bags.  It also demonstrates to our students that we can be part of the solution in not only reducing single use plastic bags, but converting waste into a new and useful product.  The amazing Spot On Dry Cleaners have donated the pillow slips and now it is your turn to get involved.

Can you sew? Iron? Trace and Cut? Snip threads? We would love your help!

ConocoPhillips Science Experience

The ConocoPhillips Science Experience is a fun 3 or 4 days of science activities for Year 9 and 10 students in 2019 program year.

Each program is designed to provide students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.

The program takes place in over thirty-five universities and tertiary institutions, within many different laboratories and lecture theatres. Participants perform experiments in the laboratories, meet and hear senior lecturers in the lecture theatres, attend site visits and walk around and experience what it is like to be on the campus of a university or tertiary institution. More than 68,000 students have taken this rare opportunity, up to date.

The program also provides information about further studies in science, technology and engineering. It highlights the wide range of careers that allow students to pursue their interest and abilities in the sciences.
