Great Victorian Bike Ride
Congratulations to our students and staff for completing the epic 10 day Great Victorian Bike Ride.
Covering 680 kilometres throughout the course of 10 days on bicycles, 20 JMSS students, along with Ms. Vandenberg, Mr. Sargent, Ms. Adolf and Mr. Whyte together embarked on what was the Greatest Great Vic ever. They pedalled through the beautiful coastal and forest landscapes along the Limestone Coast, the Great Ocean Road and through to the Great Otway National Park. Throughout the journey, students found the ride challenging in cycling through strong headwinds, rainfall and other unfavourable weather conditions, yet these have been overcome and have been built into a memorable experience to strengthen resilience, leadership and relationships with other riders from all age groups and walks of life.

Ms Caitlin Ryan and her team of students are currently in Borneo and enjoying their time in both the Kuching & Kabah National Parks. We wish them every success on their trip. The team are due back just before Christmas .
Leadership Camp - Toolangi State Forest
Held at the Toolangi State Forest from the 21st-22nd November these students enjoyed the challenge and bonding experience of Leadership Camp. See below some reflections from Jenny and Sebastien.
Leadership camp was something quite special - we got to learn not only about the qualities that constitute an effective leader, but also about ourselves. We were given opportunities to challenge ourselves and also our comforts: a fear of heights and a high ropes course? What could go wrong? But in the end, bonds were formed and relationships built, and I'm all the more glad because of it.

Leadership camp was jam packed with exciting activities which helped us build teamwork skills and strengthen the relationships between other student parliament members. We did some archery, rock climbing, high ropes and even went on a bush walk which was nice and relaxing (despite a few leech encounters!) after a long period of stressful exams. Overall, it was a fantastic way for the student leadership team to get to know each other and each persons goals and aspirations for 2020.
