SHS Athletics Day

On Tuesday 18th August Shepparton High School had another successful Athletics day with heaps of students participating and or showed their support throughout the day by dressing in their house colours or cheering for participants.

We had exclusive appearances from the blue, green and yellow crayon, Gumby, Mr Incredible and Tetris block which made the day very exciting.

The weather was great with the sun being about most of the day with just a little bit of wind.  The day was successful with many students excelling in either throwing or running events. This was shown through our age group champions

We also had three students who achieved excellent individual results with Joshua Bulte breaking the 13 year old boys 800m record, Brayden Cain breaking the 20 year Open 3000m record and Jessica Allen breaking the 17 years Triple and Long Jump Records.

Due to the many age group champions and records being broken from all four houses, the overall titles for the boys and girl as well as combined were very close. In the boys aggregate, fourth place went to Callister with 474 points, third place was Sutherland with 494 points, Goulburn took second with 506 points and first place was Rodney with 637 points.

The Girls Aggregate was very different with Goulburn in fourth place with 408 points, third place were Sutherland with 412 points, second placed were Rodney with 428 points and first place went to Callister with 579 points.

The Overall Aggregate became very tight with just twelve points separating first and second. Overall Sutherland took fourth with 906 points; third place were Goulburn with 914 points, second place Callister with 1053.

The Official SHS Athletics Day winner for 2015 is RODNEY with 1065 points!

Congratulations to all students who participated during the day and won points for their house or even dressed up in their house colours and supported the competitors.

Thank you to all staff that came and helped out during the day. The work that you do helps make the day run smoothly and on time - so thank you heaps!

Remainder of Term

We are coming to the end of Term 3, however we still have the last of our sporting events for the year coming up. Zone athletics will be held on 4th September for all of the students who placed first in our SHS Athletics.

We also have the first day of the Junior summer sports on the 14th September which includes table tennis, softball and cricket.

Just a reminder that all students representing Shepparton High School at sport are not permitted to leave the sporting venue to get food, or have food delivered to them by other people. All students must bring their own food for the day, unless advised that the venue provides food.

Students are to be in full PE uniform for that day and should remember to bring a full water bottle, a packed lunch and personal medication, if required.
