French Support

Seeking a host family

Preshil is a participant in the International School Language Assistants Program which places native language speakers in schools across Australia.

As a school that teaches French from Kindergarten to Year 12, we are committed to supporting all our students to become confident and informed global citizens. Expanding, improving and enriching our language program is a central part of this and to date we have hosted Jennifer, Celia, Melisande and Juldana who have successfully assisted our students in the development of their language learning, under the supervision of the classroom teachers.

We have received an application from a French speaking Belgian volunteer, Alizée Marbaix, who is a qualified Kindergarten teacher and, after completing her degree, undertook an internship in a local primary school prior to commencing her Masters in Psychomotricity. Alizée is hoping to start a career as a teacher or speech therapist. Her interests include painting, drawing, photography, dancing, swimming, skiing and going for walks. She has a passion for travel and is keen to visit Australia and discover its landscape, people and lifestyle.

As a French speaker, Alizée will be able to contribute to the language program at Preshil in many different ways. She will be with us for Term 2 and will require a home for the period 23 April to 21 June. She will work across both campuses assisting class teachers and supporting our French students through conversation, etc.

Preshil families have generously provided homes for our previous volunteers, and we hope again to find a host family (or families) from within the School who can provide Alizée with her own bedroom and meals. If you are interested or would like to discuss this further, please email kate.bowers@preshil.vic.edu.au
