Years 7 to 11 Semester Two Examinations

The Years 10 & 11 Semester Two Examinations will be held between Friday 24th November and Friday 1st December.  Years 7 to 9 Semester Two Examinations will take place from Monday 4th  to Friday 8th December.

These examinations are not only an opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning, but to also gain practice performing within a limited time frame in preparation for the VCE and life after school.  During the examination period normal classes are suspended and we run an examination timetable.

The Years 10 & 11 Examination Timetable and the Years 7 to 9 Examination Timetable are attached to this newsletter.

Students are given guidelines from each subject teacher about what they should revise in preparation for the examinations.  Now is the time for students to organise themselves with revision notes and seek assistance from teachers if they require support in any specific area of study.

Staff are working hard at the College to emulate examination conditions that are very similar to what will be the case for students at a Unit 3&4 VCE level, so that the procedures and protocols are well known and manageable.  Students are reminded that:

  • they should have clear water bottles only, without labels
  • no phones, smart watches or electronic devices (other than those specified) are permitted in the exam room (these should be left in a locked locker)
  • they are to write their name on the paper as soon as reading time has finished
  • they should use the entire allocated reading and writing time wisely, so that they can demonstrate their very best knowledge, skills and understandings in a well-planned and focussed manner.

A letter has been given to each Year 11 student requesting the details of times that he/she may be planning to study at home during the examination period.  Please return the slip at the bottom of the letter to Miss Waldron by Monday 20th November.
