Boarding

I literally had a front row seat for the musical last Thursday night as I was reluctantly called on stage during the opening night of the 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee. The last time I performed on stage was in Pirates of Panzance when I was in Year 6 and I admit to feeling a bit rusty and completely terrified. The experience only made me appreciate the performances of all the actors even more, but I was especially proud of the boarders. Izzy Azzopardi, Alannah Sander, James Sutherland, Sami Zehir and Tim Gilling were exceptional and gave such polished, professional and entertaining performances. Alec Jagger was outstanding on the drums and Marcus Chu and Jarman Oakley should be applauded for their amazing work in the sound and production team.

Many of these boarders will back up again this weekend at the Generations in Jazz and we wish them the best of luck. They gave us a taste of what they can do at Assembly on Wednesday and sang beautifully.

We are extremely pleased to welcome our new school nurse Elizabeth Munro who will be working alongside Rachel Vallance to provide exceptional care to our boarders. They both bring a wealth of experience and I look forward to working with them closely through the remainder of the year and into the future.

Next Tuesday the Food Committee will meet again so please encourage your children to give feedback to their year representatives. We have seen many positive changes since the last meeting and it was great to see boarders expressing their opinions in such a constructive way.

Celine Chen, Vicky Zhu and Samentha Kwan took part in the Colour Run Challenge on Sunday and the photos highlight how much fun they had. We love seeing boarders being outdoors and active on weekends, especially participating in such a good cause and community event.
