WA State Basketball Team Selection

Year 10 Trinity student Cale Reuben was selected to the WA State Basketball team that competed during the July school holidays in the U16 National Basketball Championships. Cale was part of the WA TEAM program which had a great carnival and placed 4th. Congratulations boys!

McCrae Cup Fixture

On Thursday, the Junior School A’s football team took on Aquinas in the annual McCrae Cup fixture, which is essentially like the grand final for Junior School PSA Football. The cup is named after Ian McCrae, who is the former Head of Junior School at Trinity and Aquinas.

The team were lucky enough to be wished good luck by the Trinity First XVIII Football Team before school at the Pavilion. A big thanks to captain Adam De Masi for saying a few motivational words, as well as the whole team for coming to show their support.

The game: the boys got off to a slow start, conceding 6 goals, which was always going to make a comeback difficult. From there, the next 3 quarters played were tightly contested, with the boys playing excellent footy. Unfortunately, we went down, giving up the McCrae Cup for the first time in many years.

We can’t be prouder of the way the boys played and most importantly the way they conducted themselves on the day. The TC Spirit was well and truly on display and most importantly, the team treated their opponents and the umpires with respect. We will be back stronger in 2024.

Sporting Achievements

Congratulations to our Cross Country captain, Kobee Beck, who last Saturday, 29 July competed in the Athletics West State Cross Country Championships U20’s 8km in Joondalup and Podium finished with a 3rd place in a time of 29:12 minutes on a very tough course. This was after he represented Trinity in the All Schools Cross Country the same morning. A fantastic effort from Kobee!

Athletics Carnival

A perfect winters day met the students at the College Athletics Carnival that was held on Monday, 24 July at the WA Athletics Stadium. All Year 7 students, and a large number of Year 8-12 students competed against their peers to record results that will assist in the squad selection for the upcoming PSA Athletics Inters. Well done to all students who were fantastic in their attitude and behaviour throughout the whole day.

The PSA Athletics season will begin in Week 5 (Monday, 14 August) and will run for 4 weeks in the lead up to the PSA Inters on Friday, 8 September. More details will be released over the upcoming week regarding the training schedule and training squad. We are looking forward to building on last year's 4th place finish.
