The VCE Ag Hort students are in the middle of SACs, the Year 12s having just completed their first two SACs and the Year 11s currently completing their first SAC.

As part of their studies on sustainable practices in agriculture, the Year 12 students completed some water testing on samples from two dams on a farm at Cosgrove (see photos). The students found that the sample from the native pasture hillside dam was extremely healthy and clean with no concerns about quality. The sample from the dam on a lowland block contained ‘medium’ levels of salinity and was significantly turbid (cloudy). The students considered the causes of these issues and how to remediate them in an agricultural setting.

Garden Club

Garden Club began last week down in the Patch. Garden Club occurs every Thursday recess and involves weeding, sowing, harvesting, landscaping and other tasks as required. These four students really enjoyed their first session.
