GV Passport Incursion

Year 9 Health

Last week, our Year 9 Health classes took part in GV Passport sessions, raising awareness about the physical and mental impacts of drugs and alcohol.

The students rotated through a series of interactive sessions, aiming to enhance their knowledge and understanding in various areas associated with drugs and alcohol. This included drugs, alcohol and the law, first aid, safe partying, the effects that drug and alcohol use can have on our brain and mental health and the always-popular 'beer googles' simulation exercise.

Many thanks to our School Nurse team, Mental Health Practitioners, Victoria Legal Aid and Primary Care Connect for assisting to host the sessions.

The students will continue to work on the Drug and Alcohol Unit over the next few weeks and we encourage parents to have conversations with their young people on the issues that are associated with drugs and alcohol.
