National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day

‘Little Voices, Loud Futures”

Observed on Friday 4th of August to celebrate the strengths and culture of ATSI children and learn about the crucial impact that culture, family and community play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child.

To honour the day, the Ngarri Ngarri team held a pizza lunch in the Bayuna Community Hub.

Farewell to Tahlia Cooper

After 3 years at GSSC Tahlia has taken the opportunity of a new role. Tahlia’s new role sees her remaining in the community as a Koorie Educator in the primary education setting. Tahlia has worked at the college since 2020 and has provided great care, support and advice to both students and staff. We would like to congratulate Tahlia on her new role and wish her all the best.

Ganbina Industry Tour

Ganbina Year 9 Students participated in an Industry Tour that was held at GOTAFE in Shepparton. This included a guided tour around the campus where students were able to get a good look and an idea of the different study options available.

The tour of the campus included the following departments: Nursing, Hair & Beauty, Automotive, Engineering, Electrical, Early childhood, IT and Hospitality.

Students were able to meet and chat with the Koorie Unit (Student Support Staff) to get an understanding of the support that comes with studying. Students then enjoyed a pizza lunch at GOTAFE before returning to school for the remainder of the day.
